Reason chosen:

The cover is very striking and FBI story lines are always something I am interested in.

Summary taken from Chapters/Indigo.ca:

Staying overnight in a luxury hotel, Assistant U.S. Attorney Cameron Lynde overhears a high-profile murder involving a U.S. Senator. Special Agent Jack Pallas is assigned to the investigation-the same Jack Pallas who still blames her for nearly ruining his career three years ago. Now the pair will have to put their rocky past behind them, focus on the case at hand-and smother the flame of their sizzling-hot sexual tension.

Review:

Well this is a book I definitely like. Not only is there so much sexual tension, but there is also a whole bunch of background and history that these characters have which, of course, includes a HUGE misunderstanding. I love it. I love the story line and how everything just happens randomly. Although co-incidental that she happened to be in the room next door everything else was actually a rather believable story line. Agent Pallas has become cold-hearted. Maybe he was before, but all we need to know is that he has a thing for Cameron before “the incident” and she is the only one who can warm it back up again. And Cameron, well she’s been in a slump. Thankfully she has gained more leverage in her work environment due to her hard work. Basically this is a crime romance novel, and if you like a sexy FBI agent, and some adventure, not to mention a wedding where he has to be your date, then this book is sure to put a smile on your face.

Good:

Jack—Sexy. Cocky. Angry. I love his poker face.
Cameron—strong, independent, and loves her friends.

Bad:

I think the only things that I was not a fan of was the fact that you were made aware of who the bad guy was from shortly after the beginning. You actually get to see some things from his point of view. To be honest I would rather be in suspense.

Overall (Writing style, story line, and general):

Overall this novel was a great read. It was not focused on the sexual aspect of the novel and was instead focused on the case and the building romance. But mainly it was focused on the characters figuring out what really happened three years ago.
