Summary taken from Goodreads:

With her thirtieth birthday looming, Emma Harrison finds her biological clock clanging and the elusive knight in shining armor yet to appear. She’s running out of options, especially after her gay best friend backs out from being her sperm donor. Of course, there’s always a sperm bank, but Emma fears a donor mix-up might impregnate her with the spawn of Satan.

Resident company womanizer, Aidan Fitzgerald, is used to always getting what he wants, especially in the bedroom. When Emma spurns his advances at the company Christmas party, he's determined to have her no matter what it takes. After Aidan learns of Emma's predicament, he is quick to offer a proposition that will benefit them both. He will father Emma's child, but she must conceive it with him naturally. Not one for hook-ups or casual sex, Emma is reluctant to take him up on his offer, but his charm, coupled with her intense desire for motherhood, wins out.

Soon their baby-making sessions become more than just physical. Aidan can't seem to walk away from her while Emma begins to wonder if Aidan could be the one. But can Aidan leave his past behind to become the man Emma needs him to be?

Review:

This book…I like. I like the story line, the characters (even though the frustrate me sometimes), and the ending had me going nuts. It was a really good read and I cannot wait for the next one to come out! I guess I’m a sucker for the whole pregnancy thing, but I really enjoyed the story behind it. Emma was the home-grown wholesome country girl that is destined to be a great mother that was peppy and polite and you just couldn’t help, but lover her. And Aiden…well Aiden was the typical selfish playboy that started to change…just a bit. There were funny moments, laughing moments, sad moments, and every other emotion you could feel with a story like this. I enjoyed seeing that both characters came from a similar background and ended up so different, both characters have gone through a lot of lose, Emma more than Aiden, but still. Now, it doesn’t really explain how Aiden became how he came—that will be the next book—but I was kind of happy to know that it had nothing to do with his father. His dad is actually a nice guy! (Well I hope so at least) So it was a relief to have something new and fresh and I can’t wait to find out more about him, and see what happens in the next novel.

Good:

Emma—He’s wholesome and just wants more family that will love her and depend on her.

Aiden—the bad boy, that starts to become a little bit good. *Sigh

P.S here is Katie Ashley's inspiration for Aiden:

Hot Damn!

Bad:

Emma—I found it weird that they had agreed to something (Aiden being the “sperm downer”) and immediately after things start to change. Emma occasionally nags at him a lot, and wants him to change to become a boyfriends/husband/father figure.

Aiden—He also changes a bit after the agreement, but still holds his jerk-iness.

There was a few to many “Are you serious?”es for my liking, but thankfully it wasn’t really noticeable until the end.

Overall (Writing style, story line, and general):

Overall the novel as well written, the story line was interesting, and the characters are pretty in-depth with a lot of background history. I liked how different they both were and how much they complimented each other, and changed each other. I fell in love with the characters and their background, and my heart got broken right along with theirs, jumped for joy with theirs and even simply smiled when they did. There were some minor things that got to me such as the way Emma acted. Sometimes I found her to be a bit naggy when she went into the relationship like a contract and knew that she shoudn’t expect more of him. I’m not saying I didn’t want more from Aiden in this story because I did, but I just felt like she made this deal with him and then completely threw it out the window…of course he did do something to make it seem like he wanted more too so I can’t blame her entirely. Katie Ashley takes you onto a new romantic tale and busts your heart right open to the tale of Emma and Aiden, a story I cannot wait to continue.
