Stacking The Shelves #24

"Stacking the Shelves" is a meme created by Tynga's Reviews.

Here are some of the books I've received in the mail, from authors, from publishers, and picked up myself.
Feel free to click on the title of any of the books to be brought to their Goodreads page where you can find their summary and other info.

So here are some of the books that I've received since the last post!

Real Mermaids Don't Wear Toe Rings
Real Mermaids #1
Helene Boudreau

I had an epub copy of this book, but I heard it was good and picked up a physical copy to read.

Summary:

First zit. First crush. First…mermaid’s tail?

If she hadn’t been so clueless, she might have seen it coming. But really, who expects to get into a relaxing bathtub after a stressful day of shopping for tankinis and come out with scales and a tail?

Most. Embarassing. Moment. Ever.

Jade soon discovers she inherited her mermaid tendencies from her mom. But this revelation raises a serious question: if Mom was a mermaid, how did she drown?

Jade is determined to find out. But how does a plus-sized, aqua-phobic, mer-girl go about doing that, exactly? And how will Jade ever be able to explain her secret to her best friend Cori, and her crush, Luke?

This summer is about to get a lot more interesting…

Things I Can't Forget
Hundred Oaks #2
Miranda Kenneally
ETA: March 1st 2013

I LOVED Catching Jordan and Stealing Parker!(Click for reviews). I received this bad boy as apart of an upcoming book tour that I am so happy to be apart of! Stop by Feb 23rd for my ARC review stop!

Summary:

Kate has always been the good girl. Too good, according to some people at school—although they have no idea the guilty secret she carries. But this summer, everything is different…

This summer she’s a counselor at Cumberland Creek summer camp, and she wants to put the past behind her. This summer Matt is back as a counselor too. He’s the first guy she ever kissed, and he’s gone from a geeky songwriter who loved The Hardy Boys to a buff lifeguard who loves to flirt…with her.

Kate used to think the world was black and white, right and wrong. Turns out, life isn’t that easy…

The Eternity Cure
Blood of Eden #2
Julie Kagawa
ETA: April 23rd 2013

I have yet to read the The Immortal Rules, first book in the series, but it has been sitting on my shelf for sometime. Its listed as apart of my ABC Challenge and My TBR-Pile Challenge so I hopefully will get the first read in time to read this one before its release date.

Summary:

Allison Sekemoto has vowed to rescue her creator, Kanin, who is being held hostage and tortured by the psychotic vampire Sarren. The call of blood leads her back to the beginning—New Covington and the Fringe, and a vampire prince who wants her dead yet may become her wary ally.

Even as Allie faces shocking revelations and heartbreak like she’s never known, a new strain of the Red Lung virus that decimated humanity is rising to threaten human and vampire alike.

Rocked Under
Rocked #1
Cora Hawkes

This has a Beautiful Disaster (Click for review) feel to it and I can't wait to start reading it!

Summary:

Falling in love isn't always easy or pleasant. The intense and angst-filled story of Emma and Scott is a painful, gut-wrenching and exhausting portrayal of how hard it can be to let go...

Picking up the pieces and starting again in the US, Emma enrols in college with her cousin, Ashley. She is finally free to do what she wants and live how she chooses, and no man will ever rule her decisions or emotions again.

That is, until Scott Mason walks on stage...

Intense bad boy Scott is the lead singer of a popular local rock band. A ladies’ man and Ashley's long-time friend, Scott holds an instant fascination for Emma — she finds herself drawn to him, even though he represents everything she hates and needs to stay away from in a guy. He treats females like he does a cigarette — light it, use it, and lose it.

For her cousin's sake, Emma makes an effort to get along with Scott, but she soon discovers that there is more to him than first appears, making him even more dangerous in her eyes. Behind the façade of friendship, jealousy, obsession, fear and insecurity fester — an internal battle rages as she fights her attraction and does everything she can to stop history from repeating itself.

One thing she knows for sure is that if she breaks her rule, it may destroy her.

Warning: Contains mature content — recommended age 17+.
