Melissa Mayhue’s Highlander series rocks my world.

When COLIN MACALISTER is cursed by the Faerie Queen and ends up in the bed of a twenty-first-century woman—who also happens to be the most beautiful creature he’s ever laid eyes on—he’s torn between anger and lust. Colin is determined to see Scotland free of English control and must return to the fourteenth century, yet he cannot forget the woman who haunts his dreams and stirs him with scorching desire. ABIGAIL PORTER can’t believe her luck. After making a wish to find her soul mate, she wakes up to find a gorgeous man in her bed! Can he really be a medieval Highlander summoned by her Faerie Magic, however? It seems crazy, but when Abby discovers someone wants to enslave her because of her Faerie heritage, she agrees to flee with Colin to 1306 Scotland to avoid capture. Thwarting danger at every turn, Abby and Colin surrender to an irresistible passion. But is the magic of true love powerful enough to save them?

I loved this book! But some of it made me frustrated! I could relate to Abigail and understand most of her choices, but sometimes I wanted to slap her. I mean, when a guy like Colin literally lands in your bed you take advantage of the situation. Just sayin’. But as always Melissa Mayhue’s series doesn’t disappointed. Although its not the best of the series I still found myself falling for the characters, being enthralled in story and wanting to finish the novel as soon as possible just to find out what happens, while wanting it to go on forever. I loved the warrior side of Collin and loved the idea that he could see if they had met their soul mates. I loved Abby’s determination and her uneasiness in his world-it made her not want to leave his side because she knew he would protect her. This story had my heart racing and my brain alive with the feeling of a wonderful story.

Collin—What? I love all the highlander boys. Especially the ones from Melissa Mayhue’s series.

Abby—I like her character. She's a pretty determined and tough broad.

Well there was some romance…but I guess I expected there to be more. I kind of understand why there wasn’t especially with Colin’s curse, but still…

Overall the story was still great. Almost half of it takes place in the present world and at first I thought it was going a little slow, but Colin is in the present world as well and things already start to heat up between himself and Abby, which along with a pretty good story line ended up making it a good pace, and I actually found that I enjoyed seeing them interact in each other’s worlds. The story was easy to follow and this is definitely a series I would recommend to other highlander lovers.
